The Perfect Touch Clawhammer Pick Story |
The Perfect Touch Clawhammer Pick was born of necessity. The necessity of perserving the fingernails of the clawhammer picker. The Perfect Touch Clawhammer Pick is as radically innovative as the Perfect Touch Finger Picks. This pick is designed to be worn over the fingernail, with the tab resting against the fingertip. When putting on the pick, turn the finger 90 degrees, as if the finger is pointing, then gently turn the pick until it is resting over the fingernail. A few clawhammer pickers are blessed with tough fingernails. But those who are not can suffer painful chips and breaks during lengthy performances. Designed to be worn with the first wrap near the first knuckle, the pick employs a tab that is designed to rest against the fingertip, which gives rock-solid stabilization to the pick. At last the Clawhammer Pick can now achieve the Perfect Touch! |
A Metal Finger Pick for Recently, while jamming in Pegram, I ran into a friendly chap named Rusty Thornhill. Rusty, it turns out, has invented a metal finger pick designed specifically for old-time banjo players.

| Customer testimonial:
Angie, I received the Rusty Thornhill clawhammer banjo picks i ordered from you. I have never stuck with finger picks long enough to learn to use them before because they feel so "un-natural". I am 72 years old and have been playing since the late 1950's without picks. I play some clawhammer and mostly I am an up-picker. I bought the Thornhill clawhammer picks because I have something weird going on with my fingernails right now (maybe my fingernails are dying from old age), plus they (my fingernails) do kinda "wear out" occasionally, and sometimes I accidently rip off a fingernail and then I am up that proverbial creek for a while. I put the picks on and immediately had no problem with the index finger. The middle finger is taking a little longer but it's coming along fast and I expect within a day or so, it too, will be like using my own fingernail. I guess that is what makes these picks so easy to get used to, i.e., when you put them on, they fit snug, right over your nail and feel just like your own fingernail.
Please tell Rusty they work great and that he done good. Pat Glenn - Blanco, Texas |
