Gold Tone Graphite Banjo Neck

The graphite banjo neck improves tone on any banjo... graphite composition is more consistent than wood fibers and actually promotes tone enhancement.

Graphite is impervious to temperature and humidity changes, resulting in incredible neck stability in any climate or weather.

Fingerboard levelness is perfect... not a hint of twist! Provides lowest action possible on all strings, without fret buzz.

Smooth glide finish, satin finish on back of neck provides effortless left hand motion as you move up and down the neck.

Graphite strength! Allows for a thinner neck profile without sacrificing any neck strength. Stays in better tune, and adjustable truss rod works smoothly.

Gold Tone's replacement graphite neck comes completely fretted, finished, and ready for installation by a qualified banjo luthier. You may also send your pot to Gold Tone for a neck replacement. Your banjo will be returned with a new neck, completely set up with improved tone and the lowest action possible.

Available graphite neck models from Gold Tone:
OB-250, OB-250+, WL-250
& BG250 or BG250F

Customer Testimonial:
Dear Angie, I bought this banjo new and had Gold Tone install one of their graphite radiused necks with hearts and flowers inlay. I believe this is the first OB-300 built by GOLDTONE with a graphite neck. This instrument plays beautifully up and down the neck with a loud bright rich tone. For the money, this banjo is as nice as any I've seen or played that costs $5000.00 or more. I'm extremely happy with my choice. The OB-300 was set up well at the store and having a graphite neck, this instrument is extremely stable and never needs to be tuned and plays fast and easy. I'm a tooling engineer and very picky. I wouldn't change a thing. I had the instrument shipped from Fla. to Idaho by UPS, and it arrived on time in perfect condition.

All of the wood work is first rate, the finish and inlay is perfect and beautiful. This OB-300 is built and set up to play for along time, under any conditions, and because of the graphite neck my banjo isn't effected by moisture, or weather changes and stays in tune. I know this sounds crazy but she is a beautiful work horse, with great sound up and down the neck. I have other banjos that aren't being played since the purchase of this one.

I have been described by others as a perfectionist and quite critical at times, of products and services of companies I've dealt with. The folks at GOLDTONE are professionals and provide great customer service. The gold plate on the hardware is heavy, bright and polished and the inlay is truly a beautiful work of art. The graphite neck is polished and flawless with the hearts and flowers design, is radiused and plays fast. Once again this OB-300 is a great value and the price is about half of anything comparable.

As anyone can tell, I'm more than satisfied with my OB-300, and recommend You and the folks at GOLDTONE all the time. I've owned several nice banjos and other than a Mastertone copy built by Frank Ford at GRYPHON Inst. in Palo Alto, Ca.,
40 years ago which also has been fitted with a graphite neck by GOLDTONE, and my OB-300, are my two favorite banjos. They make beautiful music, play well, are sturdy and require very little maintenance.

Also, GOLDTONE can replace any existing wooden neck with one of their solid graphite necks for an incredible transformation in sound, clarity and performance. The addition of a graphite neck makes that great a difference, and I believe GOLDTONE is the only banjo builder offering them. Still "Pickin and Grinnin", Thom Canning
